Our assigned scenario for Design Project 1 is "Renewable energy for the large population". It requires me and my group members to establish the designing concepts on a device that will convert high quantities of wind energy into electrical energy to generate electricity for the city of Kingston, Ontario. According to the requirements, the turbine will be built in a wind farm and produce sufficient energy for local people, we come out three objectives for the entire device which are "Built to safety specs", "Efficient energy production", and "Easy to produce". We build the model of turbine blades using Inventor, get the agreement to choose the low alloy steel as the material using Granta, and make the deflection test to see if the device meet all expectations.
